Why You May Feel More Attractive Single (Relationship/Feminist Theory Article)

>> Thursday

I think it is odd that at times as women we feel more attractive when we are single. Is this our significant other's fault or just a gliche in our self-esteem? It is just that in relationships you get used to a person. Men they get tired too easily. When you first start dating, they are complimenting you left to right. Then as time goes on they see you everyday and spend time with you. They see you when you wake up, they see you after a long day at work, cleaning and getting dirty, they see you when your sick, they see as you get dressed in the morning no make up and all, and they see you taking care of the kids with sweat pants and your hair pulled back. You would think these things would make you more attractive because it's the real you. Men are visual creatures. To us, we find our men more attractive after we have been with them for a long time because we respect them and cherish them. Why do the compliments go away? When women are single, it seems like every man on the planet knows and you get approached every 5 minutes when you're out. I just wish men would realize that just because we are their long time girlfriends, fiance, or wife that we are still women and a compliment like "I like the way you did your hair today" would be greatly appreciated. We like to know that you men out there notice that we changed our eye makeup or got a new dress. We like to know that after years of being together we are still attractive to you and still the most beautiful woman on the planet to you. We appreciate most of the men out that understand this, but for others you need to listen up. Women these days are naturally head of the house. We are extremely hardworking creatures juggling man, child, career, and home everyday. But one little secret is that most of us still like to feel like a woman sometimes.

My Man seems to notice everything if I get to dolled up he asks where am I going. But I guess I am one of the lucky few. We see what happens in another 10 years.

P.S. Love your blog background.
